From paradise: Montezuma in Costa Rica. Where the end of the road meets the Pacific Ocean.
When I started my research on places to visit in Costa Rica, I came across a comment that suggested Montezuma should be the last stop. The reason was: “once you get there, you will not want to leave”. I wish I remembered where I saw that – I would send this person a cup of coffee, a beer or perhaps a hug. Very wise advise!
As it happens often with any place worthwhile visiting, it is not easy to get there. First one has to go to Puntarenas, a few hours away from San Jose, the capital. There, get a ferry to cross the Gulf of Nicoya to Paquera. From Paquera, take a bus to Montezuma. And… the sight is the closest thing to paradise I can think of.
